PROBLEM: MISSING (Disappearing) FILE AND EDIT MENU
My menu bar begins with "View". "File" and "Edit" are not there at all.
SOLUTION:
1. QUICK FIX
WARNING: If you have changes that need to be saved, please save those changes before you proceed.
Since the menu is not visible to allow you to go there, you may be able to use the icon.
Another solution is to use CTRL / S (save) (assuming that you have previously saved the image) or
My problem is always occurring in EDIT mode.
What I do.
a. Change to one of the other modes.
b. Then go back to EDIT mode.
The Menu items that were missing should now show.
2. SET UP FIX (what I did originally)
WARNING: If you have changes that need to be saved, please save them before proceeding.
Position mouse pointer at the left of the menu bar (where File and Edit would usually be)
Right Click
Select
Customize...
A popup box with heading "Customize" will pop up.
Click on the Menu tab
Under Application Frame Menus / Show Menus for "Default Menu". Click on the "Reset" button.
You will receive the warning -
All your changes will be lost! Do you really want to reset the menu 'Default Menu'?
WARNING: If you have changes that need to be saved, please
1. exit from this process
2. save your changes
3. start the steps above from the beginning
Click on the "Yes" button
click on the "close" button at the bottom of the screen.
The Menu items that were missing should now show.
